Swiss Army watches are manufactured by Victorinox a knife manufacturer located in the town of Ibach, Switzerland. The company was founded in 1884. Since 1891 the company has delivered knives to the Swiss Army. The famous emblem on the Swiss Army knives-a cross in a shield- has been used by Victorinox since 1909. In 1909 the mother of founder Karl Elsner died and he changed the name of the company to Victoria in her honor. In 1921, with the introduction of inox (the French term for stainless steel) into their products, the name of the company became Victorinox (Victoria+inox). The Swiss Army brand has produced a number of pocket and wristwatches. All Swiss Army watches sold by Bluedial are authentic, Made in Switzerland .
