In 1923 the name Bulova Watch Company Inc. is officially adopted. Bulova set new standards of precision in the watch industry. In 1960 NASA asked Bulova to incorporate Accutron into its space program. Bulova time mechanisms became part of 46 space missions. In 1960 Bulova introduced the Accutron it was the first watch to keep time through electronics with the use of an electronically activated tuning fork. In 1962 Bulova introduces its Caravelle line of jeweled watches. An accutron watch movement part is placed on the moon by Apollo 11 Astronauts. In 1970 the Accuquartz Mens Calendar wristwatch was the first quartz crystal watch sold at retail in the USA. In 1987 Bulova becomes the official watch of the Olympic winter games in Calgary and the summer games in Seoul. In 1998 Bulova introduces its Millennia Collection. This collection includes a solar group, automatic watches and Vibra alarm watches. In 1999 Bulova adds to this collection perpetual calendar and world time watches.
